So, I was in Portland, Oregon for the weekend for the Pacific Northwest Reunion of Al Gore’s The Climate Project, and not only was the city unusually freakin’ hot (like 95* F), but Obama was in town in prep for Oregon’s presidential primary (today) May 20th. Here’s a bit more on his huge rally:
Senator Barack Obama drew the largest crowd of his campaign so far on Sunday, addressing an estimated 75,000 people who had gathered here on the banks of the Willamette River.
“Wow! Wow! Wow!” were his first words as he surveyed the multitude, which included people in kayaks and small pleasure craft on the river on an unseasonably hot day in Oregon.
It is “fair to say this is the most spectacular setting for the most spectacular crowd” of his campaign, he told the audience.
Read the rest of the New York Times article on what was Obama’s single biggest turnout throughout his entire campaign. Way to go Oregon!
